who am i

“The war made me poignantly aware of the beauty of the world”
- J.R.R. Tolkien
I have been painting for 20 years. My preferred medium is acrylic and watercolours, art style is whimsy realism, and I am a landscape artist. My educational background is in Electro-Mechanical Engineering. I have always been interested in engineering design and development and it was a major concept I’ve learned throughout my education. The aircraft, ships and vehicles used by the Canadian Armed Forces in training and operations intrigues me. I am a Naval Weapons Engineering Technician by trade. I find my job satisfying as there is always something new to learn as we maintain the integrity of the ship’s weapons systems. My aim through my art is to portray these machines as more than inanimate objects. They are a big part of Canada’s history and capabilities.
